Ad ogni modo, la mia sensazione su come stanno le cose (giusto o sbagliato) è che...
l'ambiente stia entrando in una macchina per dialisi.
L'attuale quarta rivoluzione (tecnologia, Internet delle cose, dati, ecc.) ci permette di avere gli strumenti per sapere molto. Sappiamo anche che cosa avevamo prima. Abbiamo anche una certa comprensione di ciò che potrebbe essere necessario. Stiamo anche iniziando a capire quanto sia complesso e correlato. È anche altamente dinamico e coinvolge molte discipline, interessi e valori diversi, ecc. Allora perché scrivere questo? Bene, è tutto un po’ un pasticcio per il sovrapporsi di vari livelli (regolamenti, cambiamento climatico, mercati, biodiversità, sicurezza alimentare ecc. ecc. (ad infinitum) ma c'è anche molto di positivo.
Possiamo creare soluzioni e credo che ci sia un ruolo per la tecnologia e nuovi modi di fare le cose.
Ma al netto di tutto ciò resta il fatto che La Terra è su una macchina per dialisi. Guarderemo i dati e avremo bisogno di imparare come agire in modo positivo. Dobbiamo farlo senza colpa e vergogna. Dovremo bilanciare questo con i nostri bisogni e ambizioni di esseri umani.
Non ho mai creduto in un modo "giusto". Il contesto e le differenze create dai privilegi sono fondamentali per capire cosa fare. È anche una questione di equilibrio, coerenza e flessibilità.
Un Mondo molto cambiato ci sta davanti e dobbiamo imparare ad amarlo, a convivere in un modo diverso con esso e tra di noi.

Anyway, my vibe on where things are at (for right or wrong) is…
The environment is going onto a dialysis machine.
The current 4th IR(tech, internet of things, data etc) is such that we now have the tools to know how everything is fairing. We also know what we had. We also have some understanding of what might be needed. We are also starting to understand how complex and interrelated it is. It is also highly dynamic and involves many different parties and interests and values etc.
So why write this? Well, it is all a bit of a mess tbh on so many levels (regs, climate change, markets, biodiversity, food security etc etc etc((ad infinitum))) but also there is a lot of positive. We can create solutions and i believe there is a role for tech and new ways of doing things. But the take-home is. The earth is on a dialysis machine.
As such we will watch the numbers roll in and we will need to learn how to take action in a positive way. We need to do this without blame and shame. We will need to balance this with our other human needs and ambitions. I have never believed in a “right” way. So much is context and privilege. It is also balance, coherence and agility. As such we have a very changed world that we need to learn to love and live with in a different way.
